Panzera Realty is proud to have recently partnered with the local private nonprofit organization, The Homeless Families Foundation of Columbus (HFF)!
Here’s what you should know about HFF:
Who: HFF is a private nonprofit organization in Columbus, Ohio serving homeless families. The organization believes it is unacceptable for any child in Columbus to be homeless, and it receives homeless children and their families from the system crisis entry point and oversees their care as they work toward overcoming the barriers that initially caused them to become homeless. HFF’s vision is to contribute to the reduction of generational homelessness in our community by providing the highest quality customer-focused services that set the standard of practice for all service providers.
What: HFF’s programs include housing assistance, holistic case management, and the Dowd Education Center for children. In 2014, HFF served 254 families, including 497 children, and 89% were successfully moved to permanent housing. The organization believes that most families, with some help, are capable of living independently and can best work to address their issues when they are in a stable, long-term home environment.
When: HFF has been helping local homeless families find permanent, stable housing solutions since 1986.
Where: Formerly located on Broad Street, the HFF building is now located in a beautifully renovated warehouse space at 33 N. Grubb St., off of Broad Street just west of COSI. At that location are HFF’s administrative offices as well as The Dowd Education Center (DEC), which provides a food program and licensed, state-of-the-art afterschool and summer programs for children in grades K through middle school. It also has a secure playground with age-appropriate equipment, basketball courts, a vegetable garden, trees, picnic tables and benches.
Why: At Panzera Realty, we work with our real estate investors to find the right long-term tenants for their Columbus, Ohio investment properties. HFF works as a Housing First agency to find stable, long-term housing for area families who’ve been in crisis and unable to sustain that home environment for their children. Over the last few years, HFF has reached out to us to place a few families in our tenancies, and we’re proud to now become one of their local business contributors.
